Moving Hosts - Hosting Options

There are many reasons for companies or individuals to move from one hosting or registration provider to another. Having the option to move providers is a great way of keeping competition within the hosting and registration market, which inevitably results in consumers getting a 'better deal'... and that is what we strive to offer our customers, simply "a better deal".

Generally all hosting and registration providers assist customers to both transfer away and transfer into different providers. At Simple Hosting we have a policy of helping each and every customer to transfer in or out of our services with as much ease as possible. Unfortunately moving hosting providers is not as simple as copying your website files from one server to another. So that is why we are here to assist you every step of the way. If you are in need of assistance please contact our Customer Support Team and we will talk you through it, step by step.

We have outlined the process of making a transfer over to 'Simple Hosting' below :

Once we receive payment we will setup your account and send you the details to access your website hosting control panel and FTP account.

Please insure that you select a hosting account that has all of the requirements of your current site (we can help you with this if you have a problem).

Login to your current providers hosting space (the provider that you are transferring away from) and download the files of your website onto you PC computer (we can help you with this if you have a problem).

Login to our control panel (Simple Hosting Control Panel) and setup all of the current email addresses you have at your current domain name.

Make sure that you have the backed up files of your website's on your computer, so that you are ready to upload them easily to our servers

Please be aware that other hosting companies may have different directory structures, we strongly recommend that you allow a sufficient testing period before you initiate the domain name transfer. We can supply you with a temporary address of your site on our servers for you to review before you make the domain name transfer in full. This will ensure that everything is in order before we make the switch over.

It may take between 12 and 72 hours for the DNS to fully propagate throughout the Internet.

If you have your own mail server in your office please let our support department know, so that they can ensure that the mail is sent to it and not us.

Once the DNS has updated you should contact your former hosting company to cancel your account.

Since we cannot be responsible for issues arising between third parties, please ensure that there are no billing issues with your previous hosting provider, as this may lead to delays and/or downtime.

We strongly recommend that you try to move your hosting at least two weeks before your current hosting contract expires.
